Mirror Creek - Glamping Retreat

The project starts from the reinterpretation of an existing wooden house immersed in the forest. The architectural volumes have been preserved and enhanced through a careful renovation of the envelope, decking and railings, giving the building a stronger identity while maintaining its intimate scale. The dark timber cladding, extended porches and cable-rail balustrades create a contemporary lodge language that dialogues naturally with the surrounding trees and the stone path that leads to the entrance. Every intervention was guided by a principle of quiet refinement: no dramatic additions, but a precise recalibration of proportions, materials and details that transforms the house into a design-driven retreat, ready to welcome guests within a coherent architectural experience.

Inside, the renovation shapes a warm, tactile atmosphere built around natural materials and a soft neutral palette. Wide plank timber floors, exposed wooden beams and vaulted ceilings define the spatial character, while a monumental stone fireplace becomes the emotional heart of the living area. Linen sofas, boucle chairs, handcrafted ceramics and layered textiles compose an interior language of quiet luxury, where every element supports slow living and sensorial comfort. Open kitchen, dining and lounge areas flow seamlessly toward the forest through full-height glazed façades, blurring the boundary between interior and landscape. The design of each room - from the living spaces to the more intimate corners - is calibrated to combine domestic warmth with the elevated feeling of a boutique lodging, giving guests a sense of home within a curated design environment.

A circular stone firepit, surrounded by black Adirondack chairs on a natural stone terrace, becomes a social anchor of the retreat: a place where guests gather at sunset for slow conversations, drinks and shared moments under the canopy of the trees. Adjacent to the firepit, a sculptural mirror sauna cabin dissolves into the landscape, its reflective façades mirroring the surrounding foliage and dissolving the boundary between architecture and forest.
